My name is Tyler Holmes and I am a journalism senior at Loyola University in Chicago.
Blogs begin every single day. Usually just from a single idea that a person feels passionately enough about to express in something bigger than 140 characters. My goal is to start the same way and see where my initial beginning takes me.
The reasoning for this blog’s creation is not only for my Technology in Journalism class, but as a force that inspires me to do what I’ve always had the idea to do but never the follow-through. To finally put my voice out there and stop making excuses otherwise. To report what interests me and benefits any reader who finds their way to my blog.
This semester my plan is to cover the continuously growing food truck industry in the city of Chicago and how they do exactly what I’m doing: pursuing their passion. I want to get in-depth with their inspiration, the competition, the struggles, the personal benefits, and the benefits to their patrons. I want a field of food I’ve always passionately supported (reigning from the food truck heaven, Austin, TX) to find its solid ground in Chicago.
All right. Step one finished. Let’s see where this goes.
