BIO

Tyler Holmes grew up in San Antonio, Texas — and yes, he does remember the Alamo. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Chicago with a major in Journalism and a minor in Anthropology. His pursuit of a professional career in journalism originated in 2006 and he has been relentless ever since. After high school, he began his college education from 2010-2013 at Texas State University and found himself in Chicago during the spring of 2014 to pursue an even bigger role in media.

Tyler launched his written career at the Chicago Sun-Times as a homicide reporter and has never slowed down after seeing his byline in national print. Since that initial role, he has also worked in print + digital advertising, client management, international wine and travel coverage, professional event planning, and more. Tyler also owns his own freelance business, J T Holmes LLC, for any additional passion projects ranging from nonprofit creative content to food, real estate, healthcare, and music.

When he’s not scream singing at a concert or running a side hustle as an elaborate cake baker, Tyler can most likely be spotted running up to every dog on the street with tears in his eyes. Other hobbies of his? Taco aficionado, self-proclaimed expert bartender, charcuterie connoisseur, and travel addict.
